I've know several people who used this combo and liked the synergistic effect. I'm talking selegiline 5 to 10 milligrams. At this dose there should be no effect on serotonin so no threat of serptomim sydrome.Any one ever use this combo?

>Yes, briefly with sertraline, and even more briefly with escitalopram.

i tried selegiline once. but i was 20, i am now 24. i didn't really notice anything.
i think i am going to start it again and keep on it indefinately as many of symptoms are pseudo parkinsonian. (f***ed up stiffness, periodic ridiculous and awful feelings in nerves, avolition, apathy, executive dysfunction, loss of natural personality and all creative interests possible, akathisia, mild to moderate dyskinesias (goes nuts in awful episodes))
i hope selegiline will protect me from further damage, but then again, i am also hoping that my symptoms are not from cell death at all.
then again, i don't know if selegiline really cancels out cell death either...
all i know is that i want to keep as many dopamergic neurons for as long as possible. i wouldn't mind never losing any again, and having more than people usually do at specific ages. it is my life force after all.

I'm interested in this combination too. Some relevant issues:
* Is the MAO-A inhibition reversible or irreversible? If it is irreversible, I'd be afraid that the MAO-A inhibition would slowly build up (without dose increase) to the point of serotonin syndrome.
* AFAIR, oral bioavailability is low and has considerable variance (correct me if I'm wrong). Isn't this a problem with regards to the low safety margin when using together with SSRIs?

I have tried with caution with no ill effects. At 10mg's.
This is the end of the thread.
