JR I can so relate to this as used to run and had own aerobic dance business and each day would choreograph dance routines, teach classes and run five miles with the men at lunch. My knees wouldn't allow me to run further than five miles. My dream was the Boston Marathon also. I did run the l0k's In Westport Ct. And also ran with Jim Fixx. I have his autographed book and a newspaper clipping of the crowd of us starting that l0 K. My personal all time best was a cold snowny icy New Years day in Stamford Ct. I ran 13.5 miles by myself. I had to settle for this but I'll never forget how good it felt. I did run till about five years ago the old lady shuffle feel broke arm and that was it. I now bike ride only 6-7 miles beach bike but that is what gets me through days. meds don't work for me. And why take something that has risks. I do take the 7.5mg valium and .5xanax and 50mg of luvox taken for years. But it's the excercise that works. I guess I was depressed as a child as my Mother was basically sick and dying from age of two and blamed in on me. And I was always a loner and spent my time in the woods and beating up boys. If only I could run again. Age 63 and arthritis can't. And the thing that really bothers me is that hasimotos thyroiditis started the whole thing. But panic attacks age 24 started the benzos. So glad you posted this. Running is wonderful. Love Phillipa

thanks for the article, running works for me too, and I have also been anxious and depressed for as long as I can remember. I wish I still had this habit, trying to start again.
keep running :-), be well
