Home didn't go well o2 sats remained low and couldn't meet criteria for discharge til late in the day on oxygen all day. I'm a baby as greg has to dress me walk me 40 steps three times a day measure the blood drainage many times a day and record amounts for doctor. No shower for 48 hours, baby shampoo doc said to not irritate the holes and scars I guess are under the girdle that extends over my boobs and attached at waist with a lidocaine pump big and clumsy. No excercise no bending no nothing for eight weeks. He removed 2500cc's of fat greg thinks and 2.5 lbs of skin. Again he thinks. So how would this compute to 20 lbs if he's right about the numbers as doc also told him it went as planned. Bed at ll and awake at 2:30 both of us and took the foley out before leaving as they wanted to leave it in overnight so don't have to get up at night bu greg has to help with that too. I don't do well with platic stuff. But seriously thanks for asking and sending good vibe. might be on a ventilator if not. And they said it's major surgery and ob-gyn is a piece of cake. Have percocet, keflex, and motrin round the clock. Love Phillipa short amount of time in a chair.

You're out!

You've survived!

I was going to wish you good luck.
(Too late!)

But you have percocet, at least.

Make sure those are baby steps, wow!
Amazing how they work on you and pretty much throw you out the door these days, leaving you and your spouse to nurse yourself.
Be gentle with yourself and your recovery, Phillipa - it will take as long as it takes for your body to heal.
I'm glad it's over, I bet you are, too.

Just got up and wanted to respond to some mail and posts. Took regular meds and keflex and ibuphrophen and one percocet at l am must have been that post op high and another percocet a 6am slept til noon. didn't want to wake up greg emptied the jvacs of blood at 6 and l2. No hunger. doing the 40 step with him bent over like an old lady. Forcing liquiqs as I've slept all day never did this before . Just can't stay away anyone have major surgery before they said it was the doc and nurses. No appetite. The pics on the flyers show a happy person someone must have not had this surgery in that pic. I just can't neglect you all as you've been so kind back to the sofa. Skipped percocet today want the sedating meds gone. Can't believe after talking to lady across the street much older than me she wants one too and is planning on one well they do have money getting her mouth done over out of pocket can you blieve $40,000. I can't and it sounds good this tuck but it's no joke. Anyone know how long this lasts? Can't sleep forever. Thanks all of you for supporting me. I need it so badly right now. I promise not to be a pain will just be in pain. Anyone with info please answer. Back to being helped to lie on the couch. Love Phillipa

Jamal thanks at least all the docs anesthesiologists said they would let him do this for a family member. But confused. Was this link meant to be supportive or saying I shouldn't have done it? Love Phillipa ps I've known for years that the tubal when they were new cut all the muscles and only way to fix was this method. Did sit ups for over 20 years. Oh well

Boy a big diffence between the bags under your eyes and drooping eyelipa as had that done in my 40's and the best thing I ever did just iced compresses back at work same week. And the best part is the fat never returns to under your eyes so you don't look tired or really old. Thanks Jamal I did a more through search on that site and it was supportive. Sorry if I didn't sound nice in last post just hurting and tired. Thanks again. Love Phillipa

Take care, sweetie. Many surgical procedures these days results in return visits to the hospital, because of releasing the patients so early. It's almost expected - I hope it's a routine fix for you.

Take care and let us know how you get on.

Clear Skies up for my 40 steps. The doc had to reclose one of the wounds from the tuck on thigh line near line from side of upper thigh to across the public line six were unstitched he stitched them again no novacaine but the pain from not the surgery my arthritis in back hurts so much didn't feel it. I don't understand how the phamplets from American and the Royal Canadian Plastics say oh you will be yourself in a few days. Been sleeping but have to walk to prevent blood clots. Greg did see the work he did and said it looks really good flat stomach and a new navel. I think the ones who are back to normal in a week or two are 20 years olds not older women. Seriously thanks for caring. I have no idea what's going on on babble as I can't sit to read but a few posts and back on the bed. Need to do med checker as someone wrote me motrin and percocet are contraindicated. Love Jan

Hi Phillipa,

Well, they're not going to tell you the 'difficult' end of the scale. Let's face it, there's the 'it was a breeze' end of the scale, & then the 'God it was AWFUL' end of the scale.

You're right. Younger people would have a quicker recovery, I suspect, than people who are older than them.

I hope each day finds you feeling a little better. Please try not to worry about the speed at which you're recovering. I'd say it's totally natural to be tired & maybe a blessing in disguise, in that if you're tired & sore, at least you're not going to get up & be doing stuff before you're supposed to!!!

Anyway Phillipa - jeez Louise - it's only Day 4 after major surgery!!! You're a nurse. What would you tell a patient if she was saying she's really tired & in pain!!??

You're getting up for your walking. It's not as though you're insisting on JUST lying down.

You're in my thoughts Phillipa. Sending you gentle, healing thoughts.

Got any good books you can enjoy?

luv, kath
