Vitamins

Posted by jammerlich on February 15, 2008, at 18:40:10

As part of my quest to take itty bitty baby steps toward a healthier me, I've decided it's time to add vitamins to the pillbox. I'm gonna start with a multi, but there are so many brands out there! Any suggestions?

I swear by the Solgar brand and have been taking their multi, V2000 for almost 10 years. I also take a bunch of other supplements, but for a first step I would recommend that one.

Most health food stores carry it and it goes on sale pretty regularly. Definitely a high quality product.

And I definitely agree as I too take it. Shaklee used to be the best but it must be joined at least you used to have to to get discounts. Phillipa

Thank you so much for the suggestion! I looked them up on the internet and they definitely contain more of everything than the drugstore brands, but BOY, they cost more, too!

My only concern is Vitamin A. They all contain a whole lot and I've read that you shouldn't take more than 5,000 IU, especially if it isn't in the form of beta-carotene because it's known to cause bone density problems. Do you know anything about all that?
