I've no idea, but you burn more calories up the higher your basal temp.....so..... at least thats good! Is it an average? Don't forget that women's temp gets higher just when she's ovulating.

That *would* be nice, to burn more calories.
Not ovulating. This is pretty much all the time.
But it was exactly the same at the doctor's office so I figured it was not problem since he didn't mention it. I didn't bother mentioning it was always that.
The first couple of months, I didnt' really feel well, and was a bit worried about it, although mostly glad that I felt better than I had before. I think i've gotten used to it now.

It's been months, so I would think a virus would clear up by now.
I'm tired and draggy, but I have no obvious symptoms. My mouth's still acting up, but that may be psychosomatic. And I wake up with a lot of pressure in my sinuses, but I'm 99% sure that's mildew and stuff. It seems to be everwhere down here, and everyone's complaining.
I might mention it to my internist in April when I see him next.

Hey, whats an internist? I've decided to try and get to grips with American sayings and culture - usually I just ignore these sorts of things and I just try to guess, but I would like to know.....
Kind regards

Dinah l0 to l you have some sort of low grade sinus infection. Merri an internist is a step above a GP. They deal in all aspects of medicine less apt to refer you to lets says a gastroenterologist if you have stomach problems. But I think it deserves a google as you have me thnking now. Love Phillipa

Best Answer - Chosen By VotersFirst of all, an internist is NOT someone who specializes in the inside of the body. An internist is a diagnostician. They often have little patient contact, they are sometimes called the "Doctor's doctor" because they are consulted when the primary care physician is stumped. Internist's often specialize in adults but may work with adolescents and children (usually not infants) An internist's job is to figure out unclear or mystery disease (structural or micro-biological cause) diagnoses when the symptoms are confusing, conflicting or non-existent. Internist are most likely to rigorously utilize a differential diagnoses.
Yes, an Internist is more specialized. An internist spends more time in residency then a family practice or general practioneer. An internist specializes in Internal Medicine. They are the ones deal with complex disease processes when you are in the hospital.

I always thought that an internist was just someone who was doing an intern!!!! Shows how little I know! I'm sure they must be called something different here in Europe.
