why do my gums ache so bad?

Posted by spriggy on December 17, 2005, at 15:00:56

And no one respond with, " because you talk too much." I already considered that. ROFL

When I feel achy/crummy like I have been, my gums literally hurt- it feels like my back teeth might fall out.

My doctor looked puzzled when I said that- he just shrugged his shoulders and said, " I'm not sure."

Could it be sinus's? My gums feel sooo swollen and inflamed. It hurts.

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP. ROFL

Maybe it's all the ROFLing you do. ;-)

Do they bleed? Are they reddish adjacent to the teeth?

It could be something at the heart of all the things that you're struggling with.

Coenzyme Q10, also known as ubiquinone. It's expensive, but it's also a known treatment for fibro. It's critical for gum health, for some reason. Some people respond well to it. And vitamin C. Cheap Cheap Cheap, vitamin C. You can get it at bulk shops, because they use it in jelly making and such. Ascorbic acid. 2000 mg/day might make a big difference.

I gotta go out. Party! I know your son is sick, too. So, I'll get to that other message soon.

Hope your son's fever is easily treated, and we'll talk tomorrow?

Spriggy vitamin C as Lar suggests might help. And he gets to party oh well. Fondly, Phillipa

Hi Spriggy,

Do all of your gums hurt, or is it just the lower ones or just the upper ones? Sometimes my upper gums hurt when I have a sinus infection in the maxillary sinuses (the sinuses that are on the sides of the nose and near the cheeks). Sometimes when I have a maxillary sinus infection, it's almost indistinguishable from a multi-tooth ache.

S.

I saw a dentist back in September because of these aches- it's not my teeth.

It's the back of my mouth- top and bottom gums in the back. It feels like there is a ton of pressure and like my teeth will just pop out.

It's hard to describe. I'm guessing it's sinus's because I have post nasal drip very bad right now as well.

Remember when you went through the mold thing? This could be a continuation of that exposure.

Your sinuses are not very smart things to have, kind of like your appendix. But you have them anyway. If yours are anything like my ex-wife's, they can be a real problem. She had an infection that lasted for about a decade. In hindsight, that made sense. She had her sinus opened up surgically, and a lot of nasty yucky feelings went with that surgery. Not just the drip into the throat, and the pressure/pain in her face.

I think you might do well to see a ear/nose/throat guy, and get your sinuses mapped. Methinks you have one that is serving as a hotel for some unfriendly guests.
