I wear pantyhose all day long. I even dance in pantyhose. I enjoy wearing pantyhose.
However, as a result, I am sure that I develop vaginal infections. Does anyone know if this is true? It seems the PH level "down there" is so delicate that anything can off set it, including wearing hot pantyhose.
Anyone know how I can continue to wear pantyhose and keep everything on an even keel? Is that possible?

It's not that the hose is causing you to be warm and thus causing the infection. It's the moisture (sweat) from wearing them while dancing (working out).
Can you wear something else to work and to dance in to give your bady a break?

I think you can purchase pantyhose with cotton crotches. I switched to thigh-highs (bad idea) and then "proper" stockings with garters, which definitely helped. Had to careful with hemlines, though. One reach for the top shelf and EVERYONE knows you're wearing stockings!
I did sigh with relief when I moved to a climate where hose is too warm to wear and going bare-legged is considered appropriate for most businesses.
Otherwise, think cotton. It's breathable and allows perspiration to evaporate where nylon traps all the moist warmth.

I have been thinking of the stockings route with garters and everything, just like grandma used to wear. I've always been skeptical of the thigh highs, thought they looked really uncomfortable.
I wear underwear now with cotton crotches plus the pantyhose. Maybe that's too much? A lot of women around here go stockingless, but my legs are the color of Michael Jackson with some nice varicose veins thrown in, so pantyhose are a must for me.
One last question, where does one buy all of the paraphanalia required for stockings?
And I do think I'll have to find an alternative to the pantyhose for when I dance. I know that's not good for me.
Thanks for the input!

What type of dancing do you do?
If it's a dance class or something informal, you may want to try cotton yoga pants. They come in a cropped version too. These are the ones that are fitted at the top and looser at the bottom.

Wildflower, those sound great!
I dance flamenco and mexican folklorico. Both use big skirts and I can easily wear some yoga pants underneath.
Where would I buy these? Would a place like Target have them?

Yes, the moisture and temperature are factors, but so is the sweat itself. You may be able to reduct the tendency towards infections by using cranberry juice. It works for more than UTIs, doesn't it?
Sorry, I shouldn't posted when I'm exhausted and drugged for sleep.
