I have only had 3 therapy sessions so far, but already I have the feeling that it's not for me. I have anxiety, depression and I'm a compulsive eater, and my goal is to rid myself of all 3, but it feels hopeless. Rather than find it helpful, I only feel more anxious and stressed just by being there, one on one, with a stranger. If anyone is, or has been, in therapy...are my feelings typical? Does it get easier?? And..does it eventually help?? I'm on Wellbutrin but it doesn't seem to be helping, and now I have to start taking Xanax when overly stressed (not tried yet) Anyone had similar experiences with any/all of this?? Thanx....

You should check out the babble-psychology board. I would redirect you, but I'm not sure how. Here's a link, though.

Here is my totally nontech explanation of redirecting. First you reply, including the above post, and adding the name of the previous poster. Then you just add at the top of the text who it was originally posted by, and maybe when. And you change the board at the top of the Enter Your Post screen to the board you want to redirect to. Then submit and confirm.
Then you go to the board you redirected to (in this case Psychological), open that post, click on the URL address thingy at the top and right click to copy. Then you go back to the original post, and right click paste in your answering post to the original poster.
Whew.
Obviously, my talents are wasted in my current profession, and I should be writing computer instructions. lolol.

Your message has been added (and that's a link to it).
And "Your message" is, well, a link to the redirected message. So you can just click on it to open it.
Or you might even be able to right-click the link to "copy link location" and not even have to open it. :-)

Thanks Dr. Bob. If I can get it to work, that might save me some time. (I'm not sure though. OCD me likes to make sure it was redirected where I intended by going to the board.)

I have been seeing a psychotherapist since June of last year. I see her once a week and she is great. Has helped me a lot.
I also see a psychiatrist monthly to keep track of my meds, etc.
This is the end of the thread.
