Its getting to be that time of year again, and this question has been running through my mind lately. I guess and example of the situation both sides would be the girl on "Miracle on 34th Street" (the old one, the new one shouldn't even be viewed by rats). She's raised to a very exact lifestyle, with no room for imagination. But the question is, in real life, do more athiest kids believe in santa, or are the majority the ones who _never_ believed in Santa Claus?

A person who is raised in a very exact lifestyle actually has more freedom to choose than the person raised in a lifestyle of addiction. Poor choices often lead to severe addiction, whether it be sexual, theft, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, abuse, etc. Religion is there as a guide and a light especially to steer children to right choices while they are teachable. Science is too far behind religion to be able to do that. Athiesm is a whiteout. Just because the world looks white doesn't mean there are no dangers in false belief. My vote would be "yes" an athiest does believe in Santa Clause because he or she can see him or her. An Athiest does not see beyond the whiteout. A person of faith does.

The focus here is on religious faith, not atheism or Santa Claus, so I'd like this thread to be redirected to Psycho-Social-Babble...

I believe I made the right choices most of my child hood, from guidance from my parents, not through religion.. which was never a part ofmy upbringing.
When i did try religion, I found it led me to some bad choices... so that is a statement that I find pretty offensive.Oh, and not being able to see beyind the white out??!!! I can see things perfectly well without believeing in god thankyou.

Sorry, but I'm trying now to have this board be more clearly supportive of religious faith. Other posts about religious faith should probably go to Psycho-Social-Babble, thanks.
