How long after eating to stop feeling so full?

Posted by Racer on September 17, 2006, at 1:48:42

I've been having this problem for a while now. Hell, probably most of the time since I started treatment. Obviously, I don't have much sense of hunger/satiety, and it's hard for me to stop eating a lot of the time. After I eat, I often feel way overfull, although I've been told I'm not actually overeating. And I stay feeling so overfull I think I'm going to burst for hours after eating.

We had Chinese food for dinner tonight, nearly three hours ago, and -- well, let's just say I can empathize with that urge to purge. I haven't done it, but honestly -- I still feel nauseous from overeating.

My T says that there's nothing wrong with me, that this is an illusion. I don't think so, though.

Then again, it's all horrible, because I'm so damned fat anyway.

Will this ever get better? Will it ever get easier?

Ask about a possible hiatus hernia.. I have one (probably from vomiting.. but not in an eating disorder way), and it means I feel *sick* full for a long time sometimes, for much longer than would be normal.. but can switch to feeling hungry / empty really quickly..

That would never have occurred to me...

Actually, it's been bugging me lately, too. Hurts...

Thanks!

Mine is pretty much OK if I do my "Little and often" eating.. I rarely eat a whole meal in one sitting anymore.. I tend to eat 1/4, then 30 minutes later eat 1/4 etc..
And if I am going to a restaurant I'll eat two starters instead of a starter & main (or just main).. I tend to stick to "grazable" food for lunch at work.. chunky salads, or vege's and dips.. pasta salads that I can eat over a 2 hour period *l*

Now, if only the rest of my gastro system was so easy to control.. *sighs*
