OK,
I finished it late Sunday night..
How much did I love it? THIS much!! *L*
Wowsers.. cried utter buckets.. How can they kill Dumbledore off huh?! That woman (JK Rowling) is eveil I tell you.. evil..
The Half Blood Prince part completely suprised me.. I thought, originally, it was going to be Neville.. but once I'd started reading I was sure it was Voldemort (when we discovered he was half blood).. never suspected Snape for a second! And, I really believed that Snape was actually a good guy, pretending to be bad.. but how can we ever forgive him for killing Dumbledore?
Poor Harry.. Poor poor Harry.. I'm very concerned he won't finish his studies and spend his life as a squib, I truly am..
The thought of Ron and Hermione having babies is terrifying me too *L*
I loved it.. A huge improvement on Order of the Pheonix..
Must re-read 5 again for the Mrs Norris thing *LOL*

:-)
I was pretty gutted with the death of Dumbledore too. Wah! No fair! And fairly stunned with Snape. I keep thinking about that... Dumbledore trusted him and I trusted Dumbledore and I was getting sick of Harry questioning that all the time... But then... When Dumbledore started pleading my head started reeling... Maybe Dumbledore just wanted to give him a chance (given his speel on how our choices are up to us and not the result of prophesy / fate).
I was suprised about the half blood prince part too. I thought of Neville as well!
Harry just has to be an auror. Given the miraculous alteration in entry requirements to potions and all... I reckon he will get to work with Ron in the ministry and hermoinie will become a teacher at hogwarts and they can continue to have a link to the school and go off on lovely adventres.
> The thought of Ron and Hermione having babies is terrifying me too *L*Ew! Yes.
If there is a consolation... It is that dumbledore now gets to be in a painting along with all the other dead headmasters at hogwarts.Maybe he will get to explain things a bit more next time. Dare I ask... when that one might be coming out ;-)

Dumbledore wasn't a huge shock really.. but how dare she??! *L*
It will be very very interesting to see what happens in the next one.. I can barely work out how she will get out of the school closing thing!
Quite a few people I know have suggested she almost has to kill off Harry at the end of the next one.. do you think so? I don't.. I think she'll end on a fairy tale.. everything perfect.. I hope so.. this story deserves a happy ending!!

Dumbledore's death really was a shock -- although, with hindsight, I can see that his not healing his hand was probably a sign that it was coming, you know? And, if I'm being fair, there were some other reasons I can see -- for dramatic strategy -- that it was time for him to go, so that Harry would have to be more independent.
I know that I'm weird, and I'll admit it probably has a lot to do with Alan Rickman, but Snape's betrayal was probably more of a blow to me than Dumbledore's death! How could Severus fool me so completely? I ask you, is that fair? I'm still feeling pretty off-balance about that.
As for the various romances, I'm just glad that Tonks found her way to happiness. She deserves it, if anyone does. And, since I didn't ever think that Harry and Hermoine were a good romantic match, I'm just as happy to see her with Ron. While I'm not sure I'd want to spend significant chunks of time with their offspring, I wouldn't worry about their breeding too much. Between Grandmother Weasley and Momma Hermoine, think what those kids would have behind them! ('Course, that might just mean they'd learn to RUN!)
Excellent book, I enjoyed it a great deal, and am glad I broke down and bought it last week. Now, on to the next in my stack...

Its strange that it wasn't a shock to me..
I was very shocked that it was Snape though.. I honestly thought he was good inside and just pretended to be bad..
But I have a feeling he will come good in the next book.. Its all to do with this promise he gave to Mrs Malfoy.. he couldn't say no to her, else Voldemort would have found out.. and once he'd agreed, he couldn't not do it..
Can't wait for te next one.. but its then the last.. so I also don't want it to come!!

Yes. WAH!!!
>although, with hindsight, I can see that his not healing his hand was probably a sign that it was coming, you know?
Hmm. Thats a good point.
>And, if I'm being fair, there were some other reasons I can see -- for dramatic strategy -- that it was time for him to go, so that Harry would have to be more independent.
:-(
I know you are right.

How could Severus fool me so completely? I ask you, is that fair? I'm still feeling pretty off-balance about that.Yeah. I do wonder what will happen there. Why dumbledore trusted him. Whether dumbledore trusted him really - or whether it is more that snape is crucial to the success of their enterprise so it was more a matter of hope...

>She deserves it, if anyone does. And, since I didn't ever think that Harry and Hermoine were a good romantic match,
You didn't???
Aw.
I thought that could have been okay...>I'm just as happy to see her with Ron. While I'm not sure I'd want to spend significant chunks of time with their offspring,
!!!
>I wouldn't worry about their breeding too much. Between Grandmother Weasley and Momma Hermoine, think what those kids would have behind them! ('Course, that might just mean they'd learn to RUN!)
I guess if Ginny and Harry end up together and Ron and Hermoinie end up together. If Harry and Hermoinie were together we'd need new characters for the others...
> Excellent book, I enjoyed it a great deal, and am glad I broke down and bought it last week. Now, on to the next in my stack...That was my once yearly novel thing I think. I just can't seem to get into novels very much anymore :-( Too much text book reading has ruined it for me, I think.

I want Molly to kill Voldemort -- I want her to do the 'mom' thing -- get really mad ( I mean, he broke her clock!) and just do it!
I didn't think this one was as good as #4. I wonder if they heavily edited it because it was so long. There must have been more to the Tonks and Remus story...
And Cho was completely cut out....
And not much about Neville...who could never have been the half-blood because both of his parents were Aurors.
I guessed that Snape was the half-blood, but I would never have guess that he would kill Dumbledore. Why didn't Harry give Dumbledore a Bezoar stone when he was so sick??
I think I know whose initials were on the note that they found, will it mess things up if I guess?
But I liked it. Much better than 5th book, although I am rereading that one to confirm something I think I remember.

Mrs. Norris wasn't dead, she was petrified. She received the same juice from the plant that Hermione did and the others that were petrified. Remember that she saw the reflection from the water from the toilet. And she was hung, not nailed to the wall.
I think the initials stand for Regules Black - Sirius' brother, who was a death eater and then turned back against Voldemort. I think the locket in the black house that couldn't be opened is the real locket...(remember, when they were cleaning)
I don't think Fawkes can bring back the dead, just heal wounds. It would have been good if he had tried to get in the way though, huh? If I remember book 4, there is no way to escape the unforgivable killing curse except duck -- remember Harry is the only one ever to survive being hit with it?
I've decided they should release the preedited edition for us. What do you think?

LOL! And who thinks memory isn't a constructive process ;-)
(my memory really is appalling. thanks for sorting that...)Good speculation...
Very good...
I'm not so good with empirical matters (ie facts)
But then I do fairly much swallow the books whole in one sitting. Should probably reread them...
