I couldn't get the Irving on top of the page, so I settled to 'The Fourth Hand' that was available in Stockholm.
Good News: I read a book! And that despite tfractured jaw - the pain makes it really hard to concentrate. Hmmm... maybe the Remeron is kicking in after all.
(Or is this just for the dicussion of the books u have chosen, in that case I apologize ;o) Tao.

I love these connections to reviews of books, now I have another one to read, I hadnt heard of this Irving one before, thanks, tap, hope u jaw is feeling better. Somewhere, I think, Mair or Ritch/Mitch said the 'voice' of Irving is the same in all his books, how he handles the language. I am interested to see if this newer one does also, compared to Prayer for Owen Meany, as it was written some time ago.

...but that would be just perfect psycho-babble, wouldn't it. Anyway, cool to be noticed.
My jaw is healing terriffic, thank you for asking...
If you read the 4th hand and, like me, love Vonnagott, you will probably notice how much the two sond alike when writing satire. Just been burning to say that to somebody who'd know what I am talking about (I am in a non english speaking ctry).

Tap,Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. is probably my favorite American writer of all time. His latest one, "Timequake" was pretty fun. Irving is more sentimental, where Vonnegut is more cynical, but I flip back and forth between those two moods a lot-so either one can hold my attention easily. There was an antidepressant drug that Vonnegut mentioned I think in "Slapstick". I believe its name was Tri-benzo-Deportamil!
