What are your supplements of choice and why?

Only those that have found something unequivocally helpful long term.

Mine is Lithium Orotate and it bars away suicide thoughts.

The only supplement that I have anything positive to say about as far as long-term effects are concerned is vitamin D3. I don't know if I'd say that it's unequivocally helpful, but I think that I've noticed some very slight and slow improvement in my energy and concentration as of late that doesn't seem to be likely to be due to anything other than vitamin D3 supplementation. This is after having been on the vitamin/hormone for more than 10 months. So, perhaps the vitamin D3 that I'm taking is finally doing a little something, and I hope that it might help with my energy and concentration even more the longer I stay on it.

I also continue to take niacin, but only because I find reducing my dose of the vitamin to be too unpleasant. I don't think that my niacin use is doing anything therapeutic, and it's probably more of an addiction than anything else.

Good question friend. I've looked far and wide for an effective supplement. I've found honokiol, kava and gotu kola to be effective but only on a transient basis. I have yet to find any supplement that can alleviates anxiety, insomnia and headache on a sustained daily basis. Medication is a dead end, too. That's the dirty secret of western medicine; there is no effective, long-term treatment for severe cases of anxiety, headache and insomnia. Once the decease has a hold of you, its game over. The best you can do is manage the symptoms and try to live a meaningful life...to the extent that's even possible.

I wish you well in you journey to good health.

high dose niacinamide (I now take 6 grams/day), high dose b 100 complex (more than 1 cap daily), taurine (2-6 grams/day), and grape seed extract (400mgsx 2 daily, AM and PM, seems to help allergies...).
