glutathione very interesting

Jimmy you have had my brain in high gear since reading your posts. I think your on to something
Oxidative stress is related to depression and anxiety. Also two enzymes that convert Glutathione are associated with anxiety.. heres the link

Of interest to myself is that one of the enzymes requires nickel which I have high levels of...hmmm

ME TOO! The nickel I mean - my depression started 2 months after when I had a nickel post fitted INTO MY GUM to stabilise a crown that had fallen out...

Wow I thought it was one of my manic-paranoid theories...

So theoretically the nickel is used in these enzymes which break down Glutathione so we are left with toxic brains... what to do? Just raising glutathione will just give the exnzymes more substrate... what chelates nickel out?

So much research to do I'll be up all night! Must get some chocolate now.

Aeon

Im not sure its the enzyme itself is toxic or the low levels of Glutathione. My bet is its the enzyme itself. Nickel is not good for you, so I would get rid of that nickel crown. How to get rid of nickl or reduce these enzymes will not be easy.

I will be hope you find a way

Cheers kiwi

Maybe I can save you some time. CFS docs have shown the best way to raise glutathione levels is with Undenatured Whey protein. (search "CFS WHEY").

I've tried both of these (undenatured)

And this one might be almost as good:

Check out this site for removing metals from the body. You can also do a search on the site as it is a large website and other forums may have information also. Lots of alternative health information here.

Hello SRegan,

My name is Gabe, and I read your post about those 2 Whey proteins that you used: ImmunoPro, and Immunplex.

I have 2 questions about these:

1) What condition did u use them for?

2) How well do these 2 powders work?

Thank you.

Gabe,

It was for Chronic Fatigue. Undenatured Whey protein to raise glutathione levels which helps CF.

Did those 2 powders work well??? Or did they cause you bad side effects?? I really need to raise my glutathione, and I am desperately searching for a good, reliable protein powder. Would you recommend these 2 powders??

Both made me anxious which may have been a good sign. At the time I didn't want more anxious. I cannot vouch for anything other than that. They didn't cure me. Most decent bodybuilding protein claims to be undenatured. We've been buying this one from iherb.com:

This one is supposed to be undenatured and a lot cheaper than ImmunoPro (might be your best bet):

If you restart the methylation cycle successfully you will probably experience a worsening of symptoms initially. The best way to restore glutatione systhesis is through correcting the methylation cycle:

Thanks a lot for answering.

Let me briefly explain to you MY situation. For 4.5 years I was taking Paxil, effexor, celexa, and lexapro (All SSRI antidepressants). These drugs have made me so suicidal, manic, and psychotic that I started drinking, smoking, and taking uppers and downers WITH the antidepressants!!

I think that this long period of heavy drug use has really robbed my body of all of its glutathione because I'm REALLY SICK now. I think this is the only viable explanation since all drugs require glutathione to be processed... This is why I'm looking for a good glutathione-Building powder.

I'm a little late to this discussion....

There is no better way to both promote glutathione formation, and to conserve existing stocks, that to take N-acetyl cysteine.

Tylenol overdose can cause complete liver failure, entirely due to glutathione depletion. If caught in time, before the damage is permanent due to cell apoptosis, the emergent treatment is N-acetyl cysteine. It's *that* effective.

Lar
