I'm wondering what is the difference between lithium orotate and prescription versions of lithium.
Are side effects the same?
Is effectiveness the same?
What are general benefits of lithium orotate in terms of anxiety and depression? (realizing mileage varies, just looking for generalizations).
Does it work by itself or does it really need to be with some kind of natural or prescription antidepressant?
I'm curious if someone like me was considering lithium why they might consider orotate instead of prescription.

I've heard that ororate is more bioavailable than regular lithium. It is supposed to do the same thing but with a lesser dose.
This may or may not be true. It may just be a claim since I beleive supplement companies are restricted to the amount of lithium they can put in a supplement.
Some people say it works just as well, with fewer side effects.
