Hi Linkadge -
what kind of effects does ginkgo have for you? Just interested if it provides energy and wellbeing at high dose. I always find my appetite is bigger on ginkgo and I can't take the energy after a few days.
I can't recall if I've done ginkgo and melatonin at the same time - but I probably have. Melatonin is a quick fix for me, and not too good a one at that - but it does seem to work for falling asleep.

Interstingly enough, ginkgo alone does have an effect on improving sleep archetecture. Perhaps due to its neuroendocrine effects.
The real key effect I am trying to get here is maximal 5-ht1a activation. Many doctors believe that the key effects of serotogenic medications are through activation of the 5-ht1a receptors.
Melatonin increases 5-ht1a receptor responsivness, and ginkgo acts as a fairly potent 5-ht1a agonist.
The first time I tried gingko, (before using any antidepressants) I noticed two things.
Less daytime anxiety (adrenaline surges,
worrying etc)Better sleep.

wow - seems it it just what you need then. Have you ever mixed the ginkgo with anything else - like gotu kola or siberian ginseng? I like these combinations. Gotu kola is quite useful for social situations as well for some reason.

Yes I heard that too. Gotu, and Ginger inhibit the release of some brain chemcial that is implicated in social phobia.
