Many moons ago when I first came down with anxiety ( suddenly in the blue in a big way)I was taken to the the docter who suspected that I might have a virus. Anyway I had a blood test done and the results came back that I had suffered a virus attack at the same time I was coming down with anxiety. Anyway I have read that about Borna Virus and I cant help wonder if this might be what happened to me ( It might be a long shot). Do you know of any labs that can test for this ??

> Regards MakoThe only way to determine which virus might be responsible is to test for antibodies. Even if you determine which virus (or viruses) might be responsible, little can be done. There are darned few treatments for viral illness. We now recognize that many viruses are life-long infections. Herpes zoster is chickenpox in kids, but shingles sixty years later.
I think the Borna virus concept gradually faded, as a causative agent for mental illness. That said, amantadine can have some effect, in some people. I really haven't followed antiviral therapies, of late.
