Still sometimes tortured by what I did

Posted by Deneb on July 17, 2005, at 14:10:40

Dr. Bob, I'm not sure whether or not you ever received two very inappropriate e-mails I sent you a long long time ago. I hope you did not read them. Please don't read them. Please don't lie and say you didn't read them if you did.

I'm just so very sorry. Do you forgive me?

BTW, I take what you say very seriously and I don't think I'm going to OD now because you said it was a bad idea and I shouldn't do it. You scared me.

I also promised TofuEmmy to never mention a certain place. I've not been to that place since I changed ISPs, yay!

I don't know you, Deneb, but I am very happy that you are taking steps away from the destructive and steps towards the constructive. I hope it is the beginning of an uninterrupted recovery, as hard as it will be. The ascent to recovery involves experiencing setbacks. It is rarely a smooth one. When you experience a setback, know that it is only temporary and that you will work your way out of it. Sometimes, all that is necessary is the passage of time. You will not have to start all over again. This is an important thing to realize. You continue to ascend from the point you had previously reached. Learn your lessons well, and they will always be with you.

Good luck.

I need to learn a LOT of lessons. I don't think I've grown up very much because of a lack of social contact.

Maybe there isn't really anything "wrong" with me. Maybe I just need to be socialized. I learn a lot of things by interacting here.

Hmmm...I don't know that I really care that much even if Dr. Bob doesn't forgive. Maybe I care sometimes.

I truly believe that Dr. Bob is not against suicide in any way (except maybe suicides that kill/hurt others). This whole forbidden topic thing for discussing self harm etc. was not present at the beginning...it came to be because the people wanted it.

I think Dr. Bob finds this place amusing. I'm not sure that he really "cares" about anyone here.

Sometimes I feel like this place is a game...a game that blurs reality and fantasy. Am I smart enough to stay in the game? How many new experiences can I find in this game?

But this game sometimes has serious consequences...like if you die in your dream, you really die in real life as well.

I'm quite confused now as I'm not sure whether the friends I make here are really *friends*.
Fanstasy starting to equal reality and vice versa! Aaahhh!

hi Deneb,
I don't think there's anything really wrong with you. Some people here ARE good friends (me, hopefully!)

This whole huge mess with so has really put a strain on a lot of people. could it be that which is making you upset and questioning the integrity of babble?

For me, it's taxing to read such unkind things, so many at once, from someone who seems to hold Dr. Bob and Babble in such extremely low regard. But have faith, there are lots of nice people still waiting here and hoping to get back to normal!

I can't speak for Dr. Bob since I've never met him, but just from the way this site is usually run, I think he's got to be benevolent. :)

Let's talk about something fun! How is Hammy doing?

hope you're well.
take care,

hi Deneb,
sometimes I too wonder about Dr. Bob and how he feels about people here. I'm sure he MUST find the site amusing, in a good way, if he spends so much of his free time here.

He MUST like the site and the people if he spends so much time! I don't know if he can really "like like" us since he doesn't really KNOW us. But he might like us the way we like favorite soap opera characters, or the way Jane Goodall liked some of her favorite apes (chimps?) that she studied. (Not that we're apes...or research subjects...I'm just trying to be cute here.)

I think some people here DO have weird malicious intentions, just as you find some like that everywhere in life, but most people here are genuine and really want to connect and be friends.

take care!

It wasn't a problem, don't torture yourself!
