I've got the most boring name on earth, here...didn't know enough about posting on boards to come up with some sort of alias...
But I don't want to annoy people, don't want to become invisable, and all that... so is it *really* worth the change...?
Think if I changed my name to Snoozin J(provided it's not taken) that would be similar enough to spark recognition?

Whats boring about it??!! I like it!
And I post with my real name too.. though the 2 came about when there was a technical problem about 4 years ago, so I added the 2, andjust never went back to simple NikkiT (though Dr Bob did email me and tell me he'd freed it back up for me *l*)
And I did / do know enough to come up with other names.. I have plenty of other chat names around and about the internet.. I don't know why I chose to use my real name here! *l*
Don't feel you have to change your name just cos you think its not exotic enough ;)

Hi, Nikki,

Thanks! I guess it's just sometimes I tend to be overly open here, and while I am totally OK with people here knowing stuff, I guess it didn't occur to me that friends or coworkers could google me or something. A coworker came in last month and said, who's Dr. Bob? I didn't have my screen minimized.....Maybe googling *my* name wouldn't bring this up, but googling Dr. Bob would...!!!Honestly, I'm really leaning toward keeping my current name because I don't want to deal with the hassle. Like I always said *if* I ever got married, I wouldn't take my husband's last name, cuz then I'd go through a couple of years at work where I'd have to explain who I was again....
And I don't have the energy for that. :-)
It's just a thought that's in the back of my mind...along with all the other garbage. :-)
Take care,
Susan

Seriously, if it is abuse, dear Phil, you have my deepest and most sincere apologies.
I seem to be stepping in it a lot these days, and you're one person who is dear to me and I would hate for you to take what I said personally. I actually like your name very much, I was just trying to be funny and trusted you'd know that. I will give up trying to be funny.

Oh God, shar, I went to my friends very small party after talking to you that night. A few hours into it(Visine please, stirred, not shaken(shook? over-shaked), my friend's brother looked straight at me and said...Howya doin...Sparky?
I'm 50 and now I own a nickname. Can life be any more exciting? I think not!!
I immediately thought of the possibilities; ordering a gas station work shirt with an oval SPARKY emblazoned thereupon. Well, possibility.
Do you think I would think you were just being mean, of course! That's why I like you, you come out with unexpected Zinger's sometimes.
People tell me, shar's talking about you again.
You know Sparky, you should talk to her. I says, hey, that's what friends are for Lamebrain, besides, sharky don't know no better.Merry Christmas shar
I see in your eyes
You care who I are
Don't worry bout
Civil with me
I'm a fan of
blatant incivility.
I have a problem too
You see.
I'm talking at six
when my brain
quit at three.
