i'm on a ton of sh*t and still depressed. My current regime is:
20mg zyprexa
300mg venlafaxine
60mg mirtazapine
1500mg valproate
7,5mg lorazepamI had a psychological test done, and it clearly says that i have ADHD comorbid with my bipolar. Have anyone any insights as to what could help both depression and ADHD?
I was thinking of dropping my mirtazapine for nortriptyline or atomoxetine, or even bupropion as they have at least some back up studies for treating both disorders. Or just leave it as it is and just add something like methylphenidate?
My first choice probably would be swap the mirtazapine (which i don't really like aside of it's sedative effects) for bupropion or nortriptyline, say 150mg? I want to keep the strongest guns like stimulants as a last resort.
Also, are there any meds that imposes depression onto me instead of treating it? I think about valproate, i don't really go manic so maybe lamotrigine would be better?
Any input would be appreciated

Be advised, that the drugs that you are taking could cause death via serotonin syndrome or liver failure or because they could impair your thinking to where you could not know what to do and your judgment could be such as to cause your death by impaired judgment. This is all because when you take multiple psychiatric drugs, the adverse effects can be increased exponentially.
I am prevented here from posting what IMHO could help you to avoid a life-ruining condition or addiction or death due to the prohibitions posted to me here by Mr. Hsiung. But you could ask your provider to register here and have dialog with me here. Then I could possibly develop what I need to tell you though the provider's dialog with me here.

Wow, a med from every category! Just teasing :).
I'm thinking the valproate and lorazepam could be causing or not lessening your depression. Lamictal might be better for depressive symptoms but doesn't have the same clinical backup for bipolar as valproate.
I think adding Wellbutrin, or substituting it for Remeron, might be helpful. But I'm hesitant about recommending even more meds to your regimen.
What is your depression like?

Would it make sense to discontinue Remeron and add either Straterra or desipramine?

Lamictal has really helped me with agitated depression (I have bipolar disorder). I find it to have good antidepressant qualities. I was on depacote before that and didn't do as well, but then again, there were a lot of other thing going on in my life.

That's wonderful!
What dosage of lamictal are you taking?
Are you taking anything else?
Thanks.
I wish for you continued health.

Hi Scott,
It was a nice surprise to get an email from you. I'm a (closeted) fan of yours. You're so knowledgeable and helpful. I read, but don't post much. Not sure why.
Anyhow, I take 400 lamictal. I wish it were a bit lower, but I'm sort of stuck on this dose because if I go down I get a little cray cray.
I also just started Naltrexone for eating problems. It's so wonderful! I am so excited about it. It has taken away my constant food obsession. I'm on zyprexa, so that's saying something! I'm only on 50 mg so far.
To summarize, I'm on 5 mg zyprexa, the lamical & naltrexone, and 40 mg of citalopram...and that's it...except for a little thyroid medicine for a thyroid problem.

SLS, desipramine is not available in my country, only atomoxetine and nortriptyline. Having in mind that Stratera is much more expensive, does it have anything else better in ADHD department, which nortriptyline doesn't? I've read somewhere, that atomoxetine is a NMDA antagonist and that glutamate is important in ADHD, still i wanna do something about the fatigue and concentration my depression gives me, i've done tests with a psychologist and it said, my memory, concentration and attention are horrible. So i'm starting to look more into norepinephrine and dopamine, as i'm fed up with current mental state
