OK, so buspar did not work for me.
It did seem to have some antianxiety effect, but it was inconsistent (feel better for a few hours then much worse).
So, I'm back on Effexor, which seems more like a mood stabilizer for me.
I was trying to break free of antidepressants, but I guess my brain is just too used to them.

> LinkadgeIf Effexor fails to produce a robust antidepressant / anxiolytic effect, it might make sense to try combining it with Remeron or nortriptyline. Wellbutrin makes a good augmenter to Effexor for depression, but it might be too stimulating for you.
A friend of mine has a soft-bipolar presentation that includes a mixed-state and social anxiety. Her doctor just prescribed Latuda (lurasidone) for her. I'll let you know how she reacts to it.
Don't give up.

Good luck going forward. Idk about the ssri/ssri thing. I struggled for the past 3-4 years off them, and recently went on Lexapro. The relief is enormous. I wish you well.

Yeah, I'm not sure why I don't like Effexor but it does help.
I really feel that buspar would have worked if it were not for the noradrenergic metabolite. Basically, buspar helped for about 3 hours then it felt like I had 3-4 cups of coffee (heart palps etc).
My only complaint about Effexor is that I feel a bit flat, but I seem to need that right now.

Beckett so lexapro is helping you? Long time since anyone seems to like SSRI's . Great news to hear. P

> - ScottThanks Scott:) Being seasoned, I am aware of the honeymoon phenomena. I've begun to cycle my sleep meds the way link does. Maybe for ssri's too.
