Can it be done?
To counteract sexual side effects and improve memory and cognition. Seems theoretically safe since it's just basically dopaminergic at low doses. Just never heard of it being done.

Wouldn't that be two Maoi's at the same time basically? Phillipa

ever tried "California Rocket fuel" ? I wanted to, just because of the name, lol.
Seriously, though: it performed as well as Parnate, with better tolerability, in some recent study...maybe an extension of STAR*D or something. I dunno.
I was just mentioning that because I was thinking that some kinda stimulant might help, but so many docs won't Rx MAOIs, much less the old school, Parnate+Dexedrine combo that was so successful in the 60s....
...but they might go for Cali Rocket Fuel, with maybe Focalin or something.
Just a thought.

I thought about that but just started Parnate and it seems to be helping so now is probably not the right time to try that. I just need something to help treat some of the sexual side effects that won't destabilize me.

I've thought of doing this too. Yes, it would be two MAOIs at the same time. Right now, however, the plan to augment the Parnate I am taking--which is not working particularly well--is to take Mirapex, a dopamine agonist used for Parkinson's patients. I also take an atypical antipsychotic (Fanapt) to help out the Parnate.
I haven't noticed any dangerous or creepy interactions with Parnate and sympathomimetic drugs. I've taken Sudafed with it, for example, with no problem. But people's mileage may vary.
This is the end of the thread.
