Does anyone know any information about new drugs in the pipeline? I can't believe how long it has been since anything novel came out. Where's the innovation? Isn't almost everything off-patent now? Has it really been like 20-30 years since we saw something that wasn't a "me too" drug??? So sad. If anyone knows where I can find a little info, I would be all ears.

This site lists drugs that are in phase II and phase III trials for anxiety, depression, bipolar, ADHD and insomnia. Most of the drugs listed are in phase II trials, so if the trials are successful, it'll be years before the drugs reach the market. Very frustrating.

I've seen that before... Problem is that it hasn't been updated since 2011. Used to get updated a lot.

yea .... lyrica was used a psych hospital for anxiety, but they always insisted on using crapass hydroxayine
definetly GABA meds like depakote, gabitril, ones that have indirect methods instead of the full GABA by benzos. I don't know....that's just a guess....gaba transmission is good for anxiety.

Anxiolytics are so 1970's, antidepressants and atypical antipsychotics are where the money is these days!

> http://www.neurotransmitter.net/newdrugs.htmlI WANT TO BE IN A COMA UNTIL NEW DRUGS COME OUT. Awesome link Hugh, thank you. It's def on my favorites list now. I'm especially interested in the Tyrima, a reversible MAO-A inhibitor? Yes, please.
But I bet out of that long list, about 2 or 3 of the drugs max actually become available. Still, it's great to see they are trying to develop new agents.

But we need new anxiolytics!!!!! We should form a group and protest at the drug comapnies about it.
I am tolerant to benzos, tolerant to gabapentin, Lyrica makes me crazy, antihistamines give me paradoxical agitation, Remeron paradoxically makes me agitated now too, I get akathisia with any antipsychotic, and even my friend Nardil has turned on me and does nothing for my anxiety anymore.
Oh, if only benzos still worked for me. Well they would, but I'd have to take half the bottle to get an effect. They blissfully reduce your anxiety when you first try them. I'm agnostic, and I hope I don't offend anyone, but if there is a god, it seems like he or she is messing with us...every rose has thorns, every kitten has claws, and every benzo is absolutely wonderful but then the tolerance and addiction step in.
