I discovered this by accident. I used to take Nuvigil for chronic fatigue. When it would start wearing off, I'd feel horrible, sick, depressed, scared etc. Fur some reason I tried taking a small dose if bedtime meds: 25-50mg Trazadone, 20 mg Geodon, .25-.5 of Klonopin. Within 30 minutes, all the bad stuff would go away. Also tried it when feeling very bad on waking and it helped. Now, on Parnate, when I feel horrible from the previous nights insomnia on top of as Parnate fatigue, it helps that to o. I'm pretty sure its the Trazadone doing it-I've tried it with just the Klonopin our Geodon and no help from that. Anybody want to hazard a guess? And BTW you can take Trazadone w/MAOI-I took 100-200 mg a might for three years on Nardil and no with it now either.

Google lists it as being like serzone. But does also say contraindicated with Maios? And you took it with Nardil? Phillipa

I read that it was such a weak serotonergic agent that it want likely to be a problem. And my old p doc was a super genius with needs and he prescribed them both-out me in z Nardil when I asked and didn't take me off Trazadone. But Pi duo take s low dose if it, just half it even a quarter of a 100 mg pill. But my new p doc is kind of a wuss that way. When pi went on Parnate he says I'd have to stop the Trazadone. I just kept quiet and kept taking it. I'll tell him at my next appt snout the Nardil plus Traz and the Parnate plus Traz add a dine deal and what can he say? But I feel pretty sure he'd never even consider letting me take a stimulant with it for the daytime fatigue and sleepiness I'm having such a problem with. I take 20 mg when I get up and (after an hour or so up) then in about an hour I start having a little energy. Then I usually have 3-4 good hours when I feel good-normal good. Then it wears if and even though I take a second dose, I'm so tired and sleepy starting about 3 our 4 pm that I'm no guid for anything the rest if the day. But yesterday might I tried the Trazadone/Geodon combo and after about an hour I felt at least decent again. Though I did fall asleep on the couch till 2am and couldn't wake up enough to go to bed till then.

I apologize for the typos. I'm on my mobile phone and it chooses words for me-predictive text-that are not what I intended. And I can't always see all if what I'm typing.

Trazadone is a 5-HT1A partial agonist, which helps with anxiety. Its primary mechanism of action is as a 5-HT2A receptor antagonism. Antagonizing this receptor also reduces anxiety.

Thank you. I knew it was related more to the 5HT receptor action than to any Ssri action-the effect was so immediate-25-35 minutes after dosing If feel so much better. And I strict the Geodon-Trazadone combination is a part if it, asking with a scrap of a Klonopin, 1/4mg it leads.
Thanks for your answer

Oh Lord, let's see.
Am- 2mg estradiol, 20mg Geodon, 1/3 Prevacid and recently added Parnate, 10 mg t.i.d.
Afternoon sometimes 20mg more GeodonBedtime: 25-50 mg Trazadone, 1/4 - 1/2mg Klonopin, 1/2 pepcid (half a40 mg tab), 40 mg Geodon. Sometimes add 50-75 mg Lyrica
Also, as needed, 1/4 mg Xanax for panic attacks. And for episodes if intense severe depression, 2.5 Zyprexa. I also take prometrium-the counterpart to the morning estrogen.
I'm doing ok on Parnate except for hypotension and tiredness.
I've recently stopped Nuvigil and/or Adderall but consisting resuming a small dose of the latter for the Parnate exhaustion.

What's the Geodon helping you with?
What do you use the Lyrica for?
You're only on 10 mg of Parnate?

On the a Geodon because when I first went in it in 2008, I achieved complete remission overnight (as an adjunct to Nardil). It actually pooped out eventually but I get more anxiety w/0 it.. Scared to let it go I guess. No, 30mg Parnate. 10mg x 3/day.
Lyrica was Rxd for fibromyalgia years ago. Its not a regular med,, take it only when I need to try and sleep longer.
Trazadone helped to keep me from waking up too early panicky. Not sure what its doing now.
Klonopin helps as an a/d more than an anxiolytic .
Could 1/4s of the Trazadone 100mg and Klonopin 1mg plus 20-40mg Geodon at bedtime cause me to wake top every day feeling like jet lag plus bad flu plus the worst hangover anyone had ever had? Thus feeling lasts 4 hours or so after waking. I sometimes sleep 12-14 hours and then still need a nap later. But if I wake up early our earlier, I feel horrible all day, not just at first.
At wits end. I can only stand the mornings because there is no other choice. But I wake up sick and miserable and totally dysfunctional for half the . Day. The b first 2-3 hours I can't even bear to open my eyes. I just sit on the couch and somehow tolerate it.
My pdoc is not a real creative thinker. These are the meds my previous odoc put me on 5-6 years ago. The current one doesn't ever suggest anything or changes. I have to come up with my own treatment plan. I suggested the Parnate. I reduced the dosages if thebedtime meds.

Why?

This is a poor excuse to keep taking a medication. Is their any way you can try life without it?
>take it only when I need to try and sleep longer
Gabitril helps more with sleep, improving stage 4 sleep.
>Not sure what its doing now
Trazadone is probably helping with anxiety. You're taking too low a dose to get an antidepressant effect.
>Could 1/4s of the Trazadone 100mg and Klonopin >1mg plus 20-40mg Geodon at bedtime cause me to >wake top every day feeling like jet lag
It certainly could. Do you have bad insomnia?
Eric
