Whenever I quit my meds, I do feel better.. as in more present and emotional. Then I crash.

I believe that, for many people, SSRIs are not technically "antidepressants", they just seem to blunt emotions to a degree so that we can cope with whatever it troubling us. Someone called them "thymoanaesthetics" , I forget where, but the term seem valid to me.

Maybe the ongoing apathy is not a result of
SSRI withdrawal, but depression itself?

Same here, feel good for a while. Emotions. happiness, sadness etc. Then CRASH. Complete inability to function.Back on the meds!

Lost 50 pounds and can actually get out of bed after getting celexa out of my mix for what its worth. I still cycle but the shifts are longer and slower so we can actually treat them and i actually feel remissions for the first time in years. It use to be that i was always moody. Now I will be out for a walk with the dog and realize "hey i've been good for like 2 weeks now"...That never happened before.

mellow, may I ask what remains in your mix? I'm feeling more and pleased with it (generally) since withdrawing off snri a few months back. Still waiting for the other shoe to drop, lol. (Not really lol. More like 'attentively'.)
