Whenever I quit my meds, I do feel better.. as in more present and emotional. Then I crash.

I believe that, for many people, SSRIs are not technically "antidepressants", they just seem to blunt emotions to a degree so that we can cope with whatever it troubling us. Someone called them "thymoanaesthetics" , I forget where, but the term seem valid to me.

Maybe the ongoing apathy is not a result of
SSRI withdrawal, but depression itself?

> i get the same thing... i would really like to know what this mean. on ssri's i am terribly apathetic. i am still suffering from this even after being off them for so long. when i withdraw from the meds i get a positive effect tho
