I am so tired of stimulants. I started early -
like in highschool with concerta and was very surprized how my thoughts changed. Everything seemed organized. With time I went through almost all of the stimulant types including atomoxetine (which raised my HR to 160 once and nurse freaked-out). I've been always anxious - but it seems that benzo's induce depression. Xanax rebound for example puts me in that state of being like a snake that is shedding its' skin. Being a human being you cannot do that - so that discomfort is unavoidable.I was on ziprasidone as mood stabilizer to which I was very sensitive - 10 mg makes me wanna sleep. And then I started Adderall after atomoxetine and I also highly sensitive to it, yet, reasonably, I need like 5-10 mg of clonazapam to feel relaxed enough to be able to look at someone's eyes. Stimulants help in that regard too, as it makes you feel as if you have high self-esteem but my body is reacting strangely and I know that at least adderall is not for me - the vaso-constriction (limited blood flow to hands and legs).
I ask if anyone had similar med routine and went on TCA? I am very concerned (I know it's my anxiety in part) about desipramine's rare side effects.
Whatcha think?

I wanted to fix the subject and to add this:
I remember one friend who was taking 20 mg of Adderall XR and 3 mg of clonazapam. It made no sense to me. Why be on an upper and on a downer as well? Why take a d-amph or methylphenidate that makes your muscles tense and in return take diazepam/alprazolam/clonazapam ???
I understand if you are taking a benzo it might make your cognitive skills be reduced to that of a child... But it is certainly not a solution.
There has got to be something different.

I've always wondered upper downer myself but a stimulant would send me to the moon. I'm always anxious and need the downer effect. Hey where you from or is that private? Phillipa

I am in the states.
And yes, just like you, somewhat sensitive to d-amph. Although during initial therapy when I assumed that not only SE but also NE need to be worked on, I was on straterra - I believe 20 mg, and I felt awkwardly dazed and confused, yet awake and alert to sounds around me - perhaps over-stimulated... One strange thing about it - while I was on it - I do recall moments I usually do not - same with effexor XR, which came prior to duloxetine (straterra). But effexor XR made me much more irritated w/ no desire to socialize - it seemed irrelevant.

You mean past memories?

> Whatcha think?Well almost, I take 200-300mg of modafinil along with 2mg clonazepam, 30mg Remeron, 150mg clomipramine/Anafranil.
The clomipramine is great for anxiety which makes it easier with modafinil which produces a great deal of anxiety.
I don't know which side effects you are afraid of but usually the risk/benefit ratio talks in favor of giving it a try. There is also nortriptyline worth considering./Mattias
