I currently take 75mg of Nardil and without taking my Klonopin, I don't get tired. I've been on Nardil for sometime now so most of the side effects have diminished even insomnia, which is a good thing. But when I take Klonopin for panic attacks (nardil doesnt help with the panic attacks, just for the SP for me), even at .5 of klonopin 3 hours later I get incredibly tired, where I can't even keep my eyes open in class.
My question is, is there any benzo's out there that are lesser sedating? I've heard Ativan or Xanax. Anyone agree? Because I need to switch benzo's I can't be falling asleep in class.

Valium was horribly sedating and depressing to me. I have read that some people are more depressed on Klonopin than on Xanax. One thing you might keep in mind, xanax has a short half-life, but I only take it at 7:30am and then not again until around 9pm, so everyone's different. Good luck.

Klonopin was depressing for me as well. Ativan, xanax, valium fine. Xanax does have some antidepressant properties. Phillipa

I think Xanax would be worth trying. Some pdocs don't like to prescribe it because it is short acting and people can get into the habit of popping them like candy.

You could switch, or you could try Klonopin at 0.25mg, which is a common dose. Xanax or Ativan might be suitable, but any benzo will put you to sleep if the dose is too high.
