besides wellbutrin and lamictal because I've already tried those two. Are all of the TCA's out?
I'm just looking ahead.
Thanks! Alayna

Hi Alayna.
You can try to add nortriptyline to paroxetine, but at a reduced dosage of nortriptyline - perhaps 25-50mg. Paxil slows the breakdown of TCA, thus raising blood levels. You can use blood tests to verify that the dosage of nortriptyline being used produces blood levels that are within the therapeutic range. Sertraline does not produce such an interaction.

Yes. Prozac will also cause tricyclic levels to rise.

Scott, I'm currently taking Nortriptyline. Six days now. I'm just trying to look ahead if the Nort. doesn't work. So far, I'm foggy headed part of the day, sleepy and still depressed??
Does it take a while to kick in?
Thanks!
Laney
