Dear all,
I am wondering about long term effects of antipsychotics. I'm really interested in all of them, but mostly atypicals, as those are what I was on. Anything from lasting a month after taking meds to years etc.
I've heard diabetes, but I'm mostly wondering about mental things or things having to do with energy levels.
It doesn't seem like much information is available about this online, or maybe anywhere. So whatever you know, or point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Zack

Welcome to babble. Think they are too new for long term effects to be known. So many meds the same. Phillipa

I have been taking zyprexa and it makes me feel dull and numb. I'm getting off it soon.
Pretty much everyone I know that takes zyprexa and other antipsychotics gain a considerable amount of weight.
If you are desperate and have no other options, atypicals can be very effective. I would try to use them short term if you can.
This is the end of the thread.
