If you can get a prescription you could order it from a pharmacy here in the UK, it has been available now under the brand name Valdoxan since 1 June. There is a website dedicated to it too which is very unusual for prescription drugs in the EU, as advertising is not permitted to the public.

Thanks. I see there are some listings, but it appears to be over $100 - has anyone got it at a cheaper price than that?

Hi HW,
My experience with Ago is very good.
As I'm very sensitive to meds, I only take a quarter of the usual dose. Never the less, the effects kick in after about 2 weeks.
Music for one is much more enjoyable. I also notice I can step over little set backs more easily. On top of that, I find it easier to loose weight (whilst dieting) and my libido is improved.
Falling asleep is also easier - but the dreams are more vivid.
Yes 100 bucks is a lot.
Is this for 1 month only??> i know the availability of agomelatine has been address, but i am having a difficult time tracking it down as the links are broken, etc. anybody have any current success in obtaining this (i am not interested in chinese-produced agomelatine given quality control issues).

>Do you feel more rested when you wake up? If its easier to fall asleep, but sleep is more disrupted then it isn't really all that beneficial. One of the reasons I want to try agomelatine is because of the quality sleep it's supposed to induce.

Yes. Sleep is improved, but not through sedation. On awakening there seems to be more mental clarity. It's subtle though. The only drawback seems to be the ALT enzyme thing.

The only drawback seems to be the ALT enzyme thing. Not everyone gets that though right? Also, that effect can be neglected through liver protecting agents and abstaining from drinking and a healthy life style? That was a question actually. Agomelantine seems right me for me. Gonna start it next week unless my doc for some stupid reason won't prescribe it.

Not so common at 25, but moreso at 50
>Also, that effect can be neglected through liver protecting agentsWhich I shall be doing

>Gonna start it next week unless my doc for some stupid reason won't prescribe it.Mine did, just to make it look OK. Good luck. Don't be in a hurry to get to a high dose. Your body will adapt soon enough, certainly by the 2 month mark. The important thing is that it improves your sleep to begin with.

Are you talking about N-actetylcysteine and S-adenosylmethionine?
Anybody ordering this from Europe to the US and if so - how much are you paying?

Bodybuilders sometimes take so many supplements etc. that the liver is going through havok. Most take Milk Thistle to keep the liver healthy when dealing with agents hard to breakdown.. Ive come across this year after year..

I just started on Agomelatine prescribed by my doc here in Sweden. Full cost was exactly the equi. of 66 USD, and that's without the discount we get here in Sweden for buying multiple prescribed meds (we only pay up to equi. of 240 USD per year for prescribed meds, then the rest is free).
Have only been taking it for a night so far, how soon does the pro-sleep effects kick in?

What have people noticed in terms of sleep with this med? I started it a few days ago and my sleep was worse and i feel worse as well. i just increased it to 50mg last night, but no improvement and still woke up at 6am... i had been on 200mg of serzone(nefazone) prior and i guess some of this is comming off of that rapidly.
i was wondering if the beneficial sleep effect takes time to kick in from people experience??? i sure hope this thing helps.

>i just increased it to 50mg last night
Well, more will not necessarily help you sleep better.
In fact I believe less might.
But I imagine you are looking for the AD effect. After maybe 2 weeks on it the effect changes and some NE type effect kicks in and there can be afternoon anxiety that feels physical and unlike social anxiety.
Nevertheless it can be a challenge.
This is the end of the thread.
