Luvox must not agree with me. After only two days on 12.5 mgs I can't take it anymore. I'm not even willing to tough it out. So I'm going back on a low dose of Nefazodone. Just wondering how long I have to wait to start.
Thanks so much,
brooke

Brooke think you start right away since I've been on the luvox for so many years at low low dose what did you find intolerable? Thanks Phillipa

The nefazodone, with it's 5-ht2 blockade, seems to take away the over-stimulation of the SNRI. I REALLY noticed too, it helped with reducing sexual side-effects and insomnia, in combination. Good luck....

MAOIs and a few esoteric drug-drug combinations that are probably lurking there outside of psychiatry are the only ones that you really have to be concerned about.

I would echo what Jay said. That you have so little Luvox in your system shouldn't create a situation that would produce serotonin syndrome. The half-life of Luvox is about 15 hours. Nefazodone will not inhibit or slow down the clearance of Luvox. You can cross over to nefazodone as quickly as you can tolerate any side effects.Luvox: Inhibits CYP4501a2
nefazodone: Inhibits CYP4503a4Neither drug affects the other's metabolism in the liver. They are not competitive substrates for the same enzymes.

Well the first day wasn't too bad but the second day I felt like I had a major hangover. I spent most of the day in bed. Today I still have a headache and am just tired. I'm also tired of trying these medications that have way too many side effects! When you're as sick as I am anything that makes you worse just isn't worth it.
At least Nefazodone didn't hit me like a truck.
Thanks for your reply,
brooke
