Provigil - start to feel something

Posted by tepi on December 30, 2008, at 16:51:17

Finally Im feeling something after taking my 200mg tab at the morning . 4 continuos days feeling this effect.
Its like anxiety , a little bit of desperation
I start to breath faster , and want to be doing something , walking , running etc.
I need a Xanax to calm down again

Dont feel the same as when I take cofee, this is different, not prosocial but Im slightly more focused on the coversations I have tried to make

please tell me something , whatever you want
Im in my hometown in this moment , old friends are making parties and Im not beein invited to them anymore. by the way , I have taken some alcohol and I feel very very rare

tell me something please friends

> Hi.
I've been taking Provigil for several years, but my psychiatrist started me out slowly on the dosage. Maybe you are taking too much. Now Provigil is about the only thing that can get me out of bed. My doc said the limit is 400 mg., and he didn't think the pharmaceutical companies would go any higher.
Hang in there, maybe reduce the dose or spread it out more in the early day. I really like it. Let me know.

Hi tepi,

I'm friends with Phillipa. I hope this helps and doesn't make it worse. But you did ask. I've posted to you several times when you didn't sound good, and you've never posted back. Please understand this has nothing to do with me, I post to lots of people, some will and some will not post back for whatever reason. My point is, do you follow up in your hometown if you run into someone you know? Do you call people back? Do you make efforts to reconnect, like drop holiday flowers or cookies or whatever. A long time no see card? haha.

I found out (it hurt) that a lot of people in my highschool thought I was stuck-up. This was because I was painfully shy. I found it easier to pull off the stuck-up thing and be safe hiding behind girls who probably weren't friends, I geuss than risk showing how shy I was. I'm actually doing it again I'm ashamed to say. I'd rather not call my friends back and have them wonder if were still friends, than risk them thinking less of me because I am/was depressed. Maybe I have something to think about, too. Good luck, Tepi, remember, there are people all around you. Probably people who would love to be your friend/girlfriend or whatever. Easier said than done, I know. I have found friends in the most unlikely of places.

Hi Tepi,

Provigil can give you an "anxiety" response. It does for me especially at doses at or above 600 mg/day. The question for you is, is the benefits worth the sympathetic response? Are you more awake and more vigilant? Keep with the medication and the anxiety should go away. However, keep taking your Xanax or Klonopin in small doses as long as that does not make you tired, and that will get rid of the provigil anxiety, yet still feeling the effective parts of Provigil. -Jake

Hi Jake,
I can't get more than 400mg/day or so my doc says. Have the pharmaceutical companies changed the recommended maximum dosage?
Thanks

Maybe you feel stuck right now, is it just a good time to spend with your family! Enjoy it!

I do think you need a medication that will add to or replace the Provigil. Maybe I heard you wrong but it seems it makes your anxiety worse. You said desperation. I will talk to Phillipa and look at your posts so I know what your diagnosis is. Okay? Please just relax with your family. When I'm depressed, thats what I do.

tepi, it is fine. You don't have to post me back. I just wondered if you could reach out to people and I see sometimes you can. I'm sorry. I will still post you, okay?

"long time no see" is just a way of saying I have not seen you for a long time. I was joking you could write that in a card and give it to an old friend that you trust.

Stuck-up is mean like you think you are too good to talk to other people.

> some people think im stupid because i dont talk and they laugh at me

Those are people to ignore tepi, they feel small and bad about themselves. They have not taken the time to know you, if they did, they would find out you are smart, and happen to be a quiet and kind person. There is nothing wrong with that! There is something wrong with people who laugh at others, don't you agree?

I would much rather have a family that cares about me than just about anything else.

I know its important to have friends, and you will as soon as you and your Doctor come up with a solution to your problem. This is not your fault! You could practice though, like you are talking to us. Maybe you could find a group of quiet/shy people like you for a group of friends. Ask your Doctor, Okay?

Tepi I'm sorry the providgil is not working for you. By any chance have you talked to ED lately as could e-mail and ask him to contact you directly. Still on Nardil right? And hope you're not drinking a lot like you were before. Get a better job with less hours so you get some sleep? Love Phillipa

Are you taking provigil for depression or energy boost?
I started taking it for energy for MS and found it also helped with depression. But if I took It too many days in a row it wasn't as effective.
For me there is no anxiety which surprised me because almost anything can set off tension in me.
It made me so social my kids got wise and started saying "You took one of those pills again didn't you mom?"
For me 100mg works the best. I do sometimes have a rebound effect at the end of the day and fell depressed.
What really amazes me is I sleep better.

I've noticed that I sometimes (not often enough)get a slightly euphoric feeling on Provigil. Does anyone else feel this. I am also wondering what doses are being taken on a daily basis. I take 400mg, but would like more.

If provigil keeps me from taking an early evening nap, I think it does help me sleep. Due to the very long half-life, I do usually take it immediately upon waking. I do not feel euphoric, but energized, and not in a nervous way as with amphetamines. Dose for me, 200mg is enough. I think you would have problems getting a doctor to prescribe more than 400 mg. People who abuse the drug to stay awake all night and work/study use more, but that is not what the medicine is prescribed for... ANSKEL

I guess euphoric may have been an overstatement.
