Ok i was just reading up on these two drugs iam on at the moment. On the wiki page for Atorvastatin adverse reactions it mentions "Myopathy and rhabdomyolysis occur in <0.1% of patients (less than 1 out of every 1,000 patients). Risk is increased in patients with renal impairment, serious concurrent illness; and/or concomitant use of drugs which inhibit CYP3A4.[4]"
Now according to the page for CYP3A4 fluoxetine/norfluoxetine is listed as an inhibitor of this enzyme.. so basically my question is... should i be worried ?

>Were the prescribed by teh same doctor, or both docs knew of the other? if its metabolised by CYP3A4, you'll have more of the atorvastatin that you normally would based on your dosage. So as long as your doctor took that into consideration when deciding your dose, its ok.

My GP prescribed the atorvastatin whilst my pdoc prescribed the prozac... i didn't think my pdoc would care about my chelestorol so i never thought to mention the atorvastatin. Iam only on 10mg of the atorvastatin though which seems to be a small dosage.

Its a good idea to mention any drugs you're on, although doc should remember to ask as well.
