I called my Pdoc today and went in this afternoon. I told him that I just can't get over the hump with the Lamictal 200 mg a day. He added 10 mg of Lexapro...one half for 14 days and then 1 for 14 days and we will evaluate then.
I am so hopeful that this combination will work. I'm just not cut out for being a couch potato.

Thanks for replying.
The depression is what I would call a "low-grade depression" and it keeps me from doing the things that I ordinarily would be doing now.
The anxiety that I am having isn't helping any either. I take .05 mg of Xanax at night. I don't like to use the benzos very much.
Dr. P said it would probably take one month for the Lexapro to take effect. I am hopeful that it might kick in around 3 weeks.

sorry you aren't doing so well. :o(
I have a thread further up the line here-- I just went to a psychdoc yesterday and was prescribed Lexapro too. Had to wait 6 weeks though for the appointment-- it's amazing you went the very day you called-- wow- that sure is good.
I hope things will go better for you.

My psychdoc is female...... no eye candy for me. Yea, that is cool they hold space for call-ins. Sounds like a great place..... that is.... if one HAS to go, at least it makes the experience a bit better.did you take a first half pill yet? I just did.... we'll see.......
when my husband was on it he got so aggressive and confrontational our GP had to take him off it.... wonder if I will get that way?...
Good luck to youfl.flutterby

i am hopeful that it won't take more than a month, eleanor R.
gosh, if i become agressive, i'll be up the creek. :-) i'm only 5' feet tall and probably can't find anyone that i can do much damage to.
i am praying that this stuff helps.
i have taken two doses of 1/2 pill.

(The tremor abated in response to memantine, and the temperature declined in response to low dose cyproheptadine; the pupils remain dilated, but that's cool).

we'll see. i really appreciate your sharing with us about your experience.

That sounds like a good idea...... I've only just taken one half dose of the 10mg pill so far, just today...... not feeling any different yet......... my psychdoc said it could start feeling different after just 5 days...... we'll see....
would be something if it caused me to be aggressive and confrontational..... *gasp*!! I'm rarely EVER that way-- just that one time ;o) with the "you know who" psychdoc that was at the other site-- the one that needed desperately to be put in his place!(hmmm... his name escapes me.... oh dear!-- hope i've not violated the rules here-- not too familiar with them yet.... yikes!)
hang in there-- I'm here with you.......fl.flutterby

I suppose it's because Lexapro makes the legs restless. I'm having that too, although I can remain seated - moving the legs is sufficient.

P, I believe that different people have different experiences with meds. That is why we have to keep trying to find the right cocktail.
An example would be what a horrible time I had with EffexorXR.....alot of people really benefit from it.

>The restlessness I was referring to isn't exactly nervousness - I suspect it's closer to ADHD-style hyperactivity and fidgeting.

Fingers crossed. I think I feel better. Not so "I'm doomed" feeling. Actually getting out of bed without the pit of anxiety in my stomach.....I hate that hole!
Dare I wish that it has kicked in????
I've been on it a week.
