I ran out of the stuff just as my mate was screaming at me, let me repeat HE was SCREAMING at me, that I was a problemed person. I was the calm one. He was the one screaming when I had been in the other room quietly huggin my kid and watching TV.
Going cold turk would not have been my first choice and by day 5 I was spinning, throwing up, and my skin felt like it was burning BUT
I could sleep, think, and had energy - just dizzy.
Found some samples and broke that down over the next few days to taper. Seems a better idea. Symptoms less and I feel happy. I feel stiff and joints hurt but I am using EFT to keep myself calm if it starts to bother me.
He is still yelling or sleeping all day.
I feel I am not the problem. I let HIM talk me into getting help when HIS father was dying of cancer and HE was makng me feel terrible and working me into the ground. 4 years have passed and its all been calmly doing the required stuff while he told me I was making his life miserable. I'm NEVER going to let him medicate me for his problems again.
Incidentally, have noticed my blood sugar level was NORMAL today but my BP was very high which means I'm going to steer clear of stimulants. No headaches in days - feeling very positive for a change. World still a little spinny but I know why.
Sadly there doesn't seem to be anyone around less screwed up than me that I can talk to.

Cymbalta will be a witch of a drug to go off cold turkey, Tunguska. It is far easier on your systems to taper to withdraw than to go cold turkey. You were wise to use the samples to have to alleviate your withdrawal effects. I can sympathize. I used cymbalta for almost a year and getting off it was the hardest thing I did. I believe it is de-toxing although my gp did not agree. My neuro, whom I did not go to until well into my withdrawal told me it was withdrawal for your brain and sent it into shock. She told me, my taper plan was a good one she would have add more to it-- however I did fine.
Good luck with it. It can vary from person to person the severity of the withdrawal symptoms.

I added 5htp and estroven to the mix. Still a bit wobbly but the spin isn't quite as bad. I like being able to think clearly again and not feeling tired and when I sleep I actually sleep not twitch and kick all night. I also noticed when I'm hungry its real and when I'm not hungry I don't eat.
I start to realize that a lot of the things my Doc was giving me besides the Cymbalta was just treating symptoms of the Cymbalta. No headaches now, no restless legs, no reflux...interesting.
I'm happy too, not manic or anything, just sort of nicely ok. Ok is fine because in the middle of doing a job that felt like it was sucking out my very soul I suddenly feel like well, its no big deal just to go do it.

I never felt more blessed to have the flu in my life! I'm finally starting to get over it and had a great day. No more wobbles either. I started a couple of projects and actually finished them and a couple of others. I don't feel like a zombie. I also made it through a biirthday party at chuck e cheese - talk about trial by fire.
This is the end of the thread.
