I went to the doctor and had blood work done. Normal blood cell counts, liver, kidney and thyroid function. A chest x-ray showed "an aspect of bronchitis", yet I am not showing any signs of any disease and the doctor said it's nothing and not to worry.
I reduced my dose of Stablon (tianeptine) rather quickly from 4 tablets a day, then each week I reduced the dosage by 1 tablet/day. At the present I am on only 1 tablet/day.
I noticed congestion forming in my lower right lung which was odd, yet I felt healthy. Asthma symptoms were also increasing. My brain is in a total fog.
My libido has increased (strange!) since lowering the dose but otherwise I feel worse now in terms of breathing.
I was cleaning green and black mold out of my house 1 week ago as it was taking over my house, but the doctor said if there was a fungal infection, then my leukocytes would have been elevated and they were normal. Hmm.
Not sure if this belongs in "withdrawal" or "psychobabble". Hard for me to concentrate on anything right now. Take care everyone. :-(Paul
Antidepressant withdrawal sucks...if that is what

I used to get edema in my lower right leg around the ankle and coincidence or not, this doesn't seem to be happening, or it is happening with far less severity than before. This happened after cutting the Stablon dose by 50%.
Perhaps one of the side effects of Stablon is edema?
I lost the original side effect sheet that came with the box.

Also had black mold in garbade disposal and haven't felt well since trying to clean it. Can you get sick with limited eposure to mold thought it had to be constant? Phillipa

Hi Phillipa. How long have you felt ill from the mold? I'm not sure if the exposure has to be constant or brief, but my doctor said that mold is dangerous and can cause infections and allergic reactions. I also read that it can weaken the immune system.
I've heard, but I'm not sure, that black mold in particular is dangerous. Is that true? I think I remember seeing on TV several years ago..something on the news about a school having to be evacuated because of "black mold".
I took another Stablon last night and most of the symptoms cleared up so I could sleep. That makes me feel less worried. My lymph glands in my neck, under the arms and in the groin area were achy, but somehow the Stablon stopped it all. That's so strange, isn't it?
The brain is such a complex thing. If something goes out of whack in the brain, then the whole body can be affected.

Oh yes you're correct black mold is no safe. But my experience is that I felt better on Deplin cleaned the mold and now don't. Less dramatic yes the mind is complex. Phillipa

allergic reactions to mold are common and can be severe
the reactions often manifest in bronchial congestion or inflammation
