> Nardilstarted2007I had anorgasmia big time when i was on Nardil, but i was only on it for 3 mos. I have *heard* that some people have this problem eliminated after being on the drug for a longer period of time, and of course that varies with each individual. Good Luck!

Sorry I can't help you as well as the guys. But as a woman, SSRI all made it more difficult, not impossible. I am very happy to report that EMSAM has made this once again a very rich and rewarding experience, so different. I'm in 50's and was worried it just wasn't going to be like it was before 9 years ago and depression begin. Wow! Now if I could only find a nice regular parnter! Maybe we should get a datimg site going?

haha. Actually Thats a Good Idea! I would be pretty into the dating threads... I dont know if Doctor Bob would go for it but I think its a great idea to make a site closely hooked to this one.. I have sort of a Girlfriend right now, but she's 1200km away, so my options are still open especially with someone with commonalities of mine (reason for being on this site). Glad the Emsam is working for you! My Nardil seems to be kicking in even greater at 3.5 months and SE's are still going down. I recomend it for those who can wait for Nardil to stabilize. Its a shame so many quit after 12 weeks, It realyy is a complicated drug and works in so so many ways in the body that it will take up to four months for some people to get the great benefits.. or even longer. and I know thats around the time sex life returns to normal for many of the users (quite unique from all other AD's)...... babble babble.. Cheers!

Hmm, 1200 KM? Must be Europe? Do you mind saying where? Just curious. I have never "chatted' on any board but this one and it is so wonderful to hear your experiences from countries other than our very slowing moving USA.
Glad to hear of your Nardil success. I guess Dr. bob will come in and tell us to go to social board which I have never viewed. Maybe we should look at?

> Glad to hear of your Nardil success. I guess Dr. bob will come in and tell us to go to social board which I have never viewed. Maybe we should look at?I havent looked at the social board either. Actually Im right across the boarder from you eh! Im going to college in Alberta and my Girlfriend is in British Columbia. we've known each other for a few years but never made any commitements. Now she wants to but I said dont wait around for me because she is just starting university, and I'm just ending. and Yes it is 1200 km back to my home town (thats where she is from). She has liked me very much evn through my days of SSRI enduced mania and alcoholism. now I'm clean and on Nardil. It does have a FEW more side effects for me than SSRI's but it is 10000xbetter. ssris made me numb, caeless, mean, alcoholic, They totally tuned me into a emotionless rock, but if I drank I was happy so i drunk all the time to boost the ssri's that didnt work like they should have (Itried them ALL) Nardil boost every neuro together as well as gaba and lots more good stuff. So what I've noticed is: I have real emotions again (can cry, love (everything), I have not loss my libito (onnly I have anorgasmia which usually goes away once the 4 month mark is hit with Nardil because the dopamine I suppose is at level with the SE and NA). Easily put: SSRI's made me numb but also took away SP and PA's. Nardil does the same but I get to keep all my REAL emotions and I feel like my self! Yes Se's were bad at first but keep settling down 4+ MONTHS IS THE WAITING PERIOD TO FEEL THE GREATNESS OF NARDIL!!!!! ITS SO COMPLICATED THAT BODY NEEDS TO ADAPT> SSRI"S ARE STABILIZED MUCH FASTER AND SIDE EFFECTS TEND TO BE A BIT LESS AND LEAVE QUICKER> but if you can puch 1mg/kg or 9omg's per day for 4 months as a waiting tial u may be VER VERY HAPPY U DID. ssri's = work 50% of the time??? Nardil something like 80%. but ya gotta wait. see i could go on forever but I wont. I just hit 3.5 months. And the last few weeks have been the most significannt so far. nardil is kicking in at a relentless pace, side effect are dissapearing just as fast. Nardil gave me these SE's that ssris did not when starting: dizzyness, couldnt walk strait, loss of balance, very very weak, worst constipation ever, worst anorgasmia ever, looked stoned, water retension, 10 lbs weight gain, I smelled like Nardil uncontrollable night cravings for food and cigarettes. BUT NOW I DONT CRAVE ALCOHOL.
I will shut up now but i did cum this week 3 times and all those SE'sare gone but the weighht, water retention. Now just add on some typical side effects from ssri's and thats what you should expect at the begining stage of Nardil.. unless u titrate slowly, then you shouldn't be hit so Hard. I started BANG! at 1mg/kg (no titraiting) I was desperate. then pushed to 90 mgs and I bet by month 4-6 Nardil wil have even less side effects then ssris. My 2 cents, everyone is different. But I belive in long Nardil Trials at 80%mao inhibition.. dont even count the days at 15 - 45 mg's as even being part of the 4 month of titrating. once u hit 60mgs keep pushing upwards to 1mg/kg or 90mg/day and begin the clock for 12-16 weeks to know if it will be for you. ENDURE the first month of SE's THEY GO AWAY! I had to take a few days off from school because of SE's, but I put my trust in Nardil and it payed off after 3.5 months. It did kick in by 3.5 weeks, but I had bad Se's and compared to its stabel state at 3.5 months, nothing is comparable//// Hows that for promoting Nardil??? hahah I have no mental illness AT ALL on Nardil.
Thanks for listening if you made it through all that

Of course I read. Thanks for being so candid. That's why we're all here,to learn the nitty gritty of these drugs.
As to social board, I checked and I think Dr. Bob removed it with new board clean up. Maybe he'll add something later.
My present fear is that I feel so amazing, too good, but I know this is how I really was before MDD/now called atypical D (I graduated!) after 9 years. Lately I have been getting short (couple of minutes) several times a day, rapid heart beat. No cardiac problems. BP great, weight best is years (EMSAM either causes weight loss for me or I'm so happy I don't emotionally eat).
I will tell dr. next week.
But this "too good" feeling is very scary, like waiting for the other shoe to drop. I had some very bad professional news this morning, directly relating to what caused my MDD 9 years ago and I had difficulty breathing for a few seconds. Then got a grip and called some people to let them know. Found I could see a positive to a HUGE negative. Is this the drug? Or is it me being better than normal on EMSAM.
I had horrific week . . .dog poisoned by crazy tenant, can't stay at apt. for fear, place I'm crashing lost furnace and carbon monoxide in unit, so no heat maybe until Monday. And I'm not laughing, but just taking in stride. Shouldn't I be jumping off a bridge? Instead I'm hugging my dog because I'm so happy he should be OK. I'm so grateful every minute for feeling so good. This is so weird I get scared I will have to stop drug because I will develop some side effect or things are going better (I guess???) and maybe I'm going die in a week (maybe fate?) and it's just going to be good for a little bit.
so now who's long winded?

Thanks for checking. I wonder why you didn't find it, it should still be there. Here's a link:

> Nardilstarted2007Hi,
This problem does seem to lessen with time. I'm also on 90mg of Nardil. Have you had your free testosterone level checked. If this test shows you are in the high normal range, orgasm will be easier. I believe it will always be somewhat delayed but should be possible.

Hi again,
There has been a lot of research on dopamine agonist cabergoline for the relief of medication induced sexual dysfunction. See this post on the neurotransmitter board:
