does anyone take IXEL???

Posted by Benjiami on November 12, 2007, at 13:18:01

i am living in israel for a year. the p-doc i see here took me off of cymbalta and put me on ixel. it is not available in the states. i started at 25 mg once a day and am now at 50 mg once a day. she said i can easily go up to 100 mg or more. she says it is very similar to cymbalta with the added bonus of it giving me energy. i don't have energy, though, and i really can't tell if it is helping otherwise. i am bipolar 1 and am currently struggling with depression. i really don't feel like cymbalta has ever helped after being on it for about a year. when i tried stopping cymbalta but not taking something new in its place i got crazy withdrawal symptoms within 48 hours.

I've only known a couple of people who've been on Ixel. Since it isn't available in the US, you will not come across many people here who have taken in.

I tried both Ixel and Cymbalta.Cymbalta is much closer to an SSRI. Ixel is a more potent noradrenergic than serotenergic.I felt more alert when I took 50mg b.i.d.
Main side effects were were a burning feeling when urinating and irritability, which turned into agreesive talk..etc. and led me to stop.
Ixel is much closer to a clean noradrenergic AD than a real mix e.g. Effexor. Ixel was close to desipramine and reboxetine.
