Does anyone know how long it would take to noticeably boost dopamine levels by taking Selegiline caps 5 mg?
I am looking for a mild boost in motivation, focus, drive, etc. Do you have to take everyday or can you do day on day off and it still work?
thanks for any info
JB

Jimmy didn't you try EMSAM if not sorry but you could try cutting the patches and taking off at night or wearing it a couple of days a week. Of course you would have to ask you doc. Phillipa

I don't know how long it would take selegiline to kick in, but things I have seen suggest that effects are within a couple of hours, and that at the doses you stated, in would inhibit MAO-B at the rate of 80-90% percent for up to 2 weeks.
Thus, you can definitely take it only every other day or even less frequently. I have never taken it in oral form though, so I am only going on what I have read elsewhere.
Dr Joseph Knoll, the founder of selegiline, in fact recommends taking it at lower doses from every other day to once a week (depending on age) to improve longevity, memory, protect the brain from aging, and improve mood.

I think it aggravates insomnia with me but one way of taking it would be to put half the cap under your tongue first thing in the morning.
The first time you try it it seems to take longer to work, maybe weeks.
Now (on the rare occasions) when I try deprenyl citrate I notice it within an hour or two, perhaps because I am taking tianeptine.
This is the end of the thread.
