Strange, it didn't reduce mania, but made it worse?
Is your mania dysphoric or euphoric? Dysphoric mania can be harder to treat because it can sometimes have components of depression mixed in.
Melatonin is sometimes good for mania. It has an anticonvulsant effect, and can help some mania, but I wouldn't try it if you are on quercetin.
I tried the two together and had some funkey reactions. I think due to the fact that quercetin has some effects as a MAOI.

Sorry!
I meant to say that tamoxifen gave me severe insomnia! I believe it was helpful with my mania, but it really strong psychotropic effects for me... like i was wired...
I experience dysphoric mania for sure... epival helps, but i definately need more... nothing else has helped and I've tried everything.. :(

Here is a list of some I know of, but you may have tried some of them before, and some may or may not mix well with standard anticonvulsants.
- Omega-3 (some antimanic effect)
- Tarine
- Magnesium
- Melatonin
- Vitamin C
- Tryptophan or 5-htp (sometimes helps mania)
- Ginger Root
- Black Cohosh (anecdotal reports)
- Niacine
- Citrus Bioflavanoids
- Opiates (can help some dyphoric mania),
(usually don't help euphoric mania.)
- melatonin
- Oleic Acid
- QuercetinCan't think of any others off the top of my head.

Thx Link, much apprecited...
I actually have tried many of them... however, i would like to try magnesium with divalproex, as I understand magnesium has had some success in agitated mania...
