I just took klonopin about and hour ago and it isnt working. I have valium...is it ok to take the valium even though I have klonopin already in my system?

it will probably just make you sleepy. I don't know you if you take benzos on an empty stomach.

I wouldn't mess with it unless I had really well-researched reasons.
My experience with Klonopin is that the effective dosage and time until it starts acting differs from time to time. I think some of it has to do with how full your stomach is.
Valium acts faster than Klonopin. So if you take Valium after Klonopin, you could have them compounding each other. Like drinking beer after you had been drinking scotch or some other hard liquor all night. Bad idea.
For me, sometimes it takes more than an hour for Klonopin to start working noticeably. My personal, and very unprofessional, practice is to take another .5 mg of Klonopin if the original dose isn't working after 90 minutes.

They're both benzo's Klonapen is MUCH MUCH stronger. Be careful, There are a lot of people "like myself" that are struggleing to get off benzo's, they are very addictive

At one time was on both together per my pdoc just stopped the klonopin as it depresses me. Low dose was what I was on. So I would say without reading the whole thread that if you want to get off benzos no if not ask your pdoc to spit the dose to equal the same amount of benzo. Does this make any sense. Like the equivelency charts. A bit of each to equal the total doseage desired. Phillipa
