I have a long history of Hardcore depression.
Currently Im taking 200mg Zoloft, 20-25mg dex amphet (twice a day) lots of alcohol & benzo's (mainly Klonaz) & seroquel at night to put me to sleep.
Anyways my questions are.
Dose sodium bicarbonate + tartaric acid + citryic acid anhydrous + sodium citrate hydrous... Improve the amphetamine effects?
& a bit of Magnesium could go a long way yeah????
Is it Important that I quit alcohol for atleast a month?
Regards.....

Yes you need to quit alcohol, it is a depressant.

I know many people that self-medicate their depression with alcohol ("dual diagnosis") and although alcohol is classified as a depressant, it can be used to combat depression especially at moderate doses. Not that I'm recommending it, but for many it can keep their depression under control, although it can cause other problems especially if it is used to excess. For those that are on AD's the general consensus is that alcohol taken with these meds is a definate no-no, but many still risk side effects from taking alcohol along with their meds. I suppose under controlled situations and at low levels it can be safe enough(?) when combined with meds, it is never recommended or officially allowed.

I'm a former boozer w/ depression problems myself. I now have 3 years of sobriety. I know when i was drinking heavy and taken AD meds, the meds did not work. Long story short, drinking alcohol and taking anti-depressents is like fighting fire w/fire, if that makes sense to you.

You used the phrase "lots of alcohol."
That sounds like a problem.Been there, done that, for years. It's a separate issue but one that nonethless can be intimately involved with depression.
As long as alcohol is present in quantity, all the other meds are not functioning at their true level of efficacy.
Best of luck.

here is a thought.
Namenda (Memantine) helps to mitigate glutamate toxicity in the brain. It has some indications that you might want to research in regards to helping quit alcohol and also to improve brain function. I am no expert but I believe it improves GABA which may be low in folks that desire alcohol. It shares some desirable properties of magnesium and i know for me it eases anxiety, promotes clarity and concentration and restores sensitivity to amphetamines. It just seems to improve brain function all the way around for me.
It is very safe and is primarily given to AD patients. Neurologists are impressed with this med and my Dr. says many are taking it as a prentative.
I hope this helps.
Peace,
Kaye

Thanks, Ill try and get some.
(from a health food store? or would I need a script do you reckon) in Australia.
Oh I see its a smart drug, cool I know where to get them from.
Its also an NMDA antagonist which some believe to maintain amphetamine tollerance.
WOW, its extremly expensive though.> here is a thought.

Its just my psychiatrist said Urals (sodium bicarbonate + tartaric acid + citryic acid anhydrous + sodium citrate hydrous... Improve the amphetamine effects)
Would increase their effects, I think they might make me really bloated though.
