here is a thought.
Namenda (Memantine) helps to mitigate glutamate toxicity in the brain. It has some indications that you might want to research in regards to helping quit alcohol and also to improve brain function. I am no expert but I believe it improves GABA which may be low in folks that desire alcohol. It shares some desirable properties of magnesium and i know for me it eases anxiety, promotes clarity and concentration and restores sensitivity to amphetamines. It just seems to improve brain function all the way around for me.
It is very safe and is primarily given to AD patients. Neurologists are impressed with this med and my Dr. says many are taking it as a prentative.
I hope this helps.
Peace,
Kaye
