My dr. raised my Klonopin for my current
crisis state, instead of giving me Xanax.
So, now on top of the other K dose, i am
up to 2.0. I notice also that the big hospitals
like to give K daily and not "as needed". It may not sound like much 2.0mg, but
with the lithium, i think it is interacting;
i have numbness, dizziness, head congestion and
headache, more diarrhea, and no effect on the
anxiety to speak of, compared to Xanax or a
small drink. So, i am not going to take it-- now that it's
early in the prescription before i get addicted.
Klonopin habituation is one alien killer.Hope my dr. doesn't mind. Am I being bad?

I don't think "bad" is the right word. But do it sensibly. Go off it gradually. If you were on Xanax previously to the Klonopin you will go through a major benzo withdrawal, but I can't remember if you were switched from Xanax to Klonopin, or if your dosage was just increased.
BTW, Xanax is more of an "as needed" benzo. If you are having a panic attack or anxiety, Klonopin can take its time to work (it helps to let it disolve under your tongue). That's why most people don't take Klonopin as a PRN.
I hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Maxime-- actually, I withdrew from Xanax
yrs. ago. I have been on 1.50 K for about 5 yrs.The recent increase has only been for the past
4 days and that is a .50 increase, so i think i am
safe.I would have preferred the Xanax, but my dr. may
have just thought i was in great distress. It is
possibly also a more practical drug than X as it does not lead to quick addiction. But the K, is much stronger and for creates respiration problems, dizziness and others.tx

Squiggles you should let your doc know about what happens on the increased klonopin and explain that's why you would like xanax I don't think he would object that do you? Love Phillipa
