Ultram ER...

Posted by spriggy on April 18, 2007, at 17:33:39

It just dawned on me that my problems lately could be from the Ultram sicne it does mess with seratonin and norepiphrine (however it is spelled).

I started having numbness/tingling in my limbs and face- even brief episodes of paralysis.

I also have what I call "heavy" feeling in my arms/legs. Like weights have been tied to them suddenly.

I can trace this back to around the 3rd week of Ultram.

Does anyone know if this could be a symptom?

They have done an MRI and now I have to see a neurologist again- ( I do have Lymes') but they are worried about MS now.

I THINK it could be this stupid medicine.

Any thoughts?

Spriggy why the long wait on the MRI they are easy to read is it done yet? Love Phillipa ps it will clearly show MS too. If not done yet tell the doc you need it now. As you are having strange feelings.

My workup for M.S. last fall was from side effects of lamictal and seroquel. Luckily my workup was negative but my symptoms were falling, lack of coordiantion, memory difficulties, lots of cognitive deficits and some numbness in my arms/legs and weakness too. I wouldn't be surprised you have this from a new medication especially if it coincided with starting Ultram.

Both my pdoc and I (had no memory) missed the connection and I had the MRI ($2500) which was negative, along with a whle slew of blood tests which were also negative.

A costly workup for medication side effects, not to say quite scarey too since my sis-inlaw was just diagnosed w M.S. and I had more symptoms than she presented with.
