How long, generally, does Wellbutrin take to work?
When I took it I didn't really notice a difference either way and I took a pretty high dose but only for a week.

I noticed a difference in a much shorter time than I have for other ADs. I think it was within two weeks.
Instead of taking a higher dose for a week, maybe you'd have done better on a lower dose for a longer time, maybe titrating upwards? What happened?

I noticed stimulant effect within hours of my first dose, (which also produces some anti-depressant effect, like Ritalin might). I experienced "full-blown" anti-depressant effect sometime around 3-4 weeks.

It typically takes about 3-4 weeks to feel significant improvement, though everyone's different and it may work quicker or slower then that for you.
Or not at all, as was the case with me.

> DeniseMy doctor has me on it now, began one week ago at 37.5mg. and just went to 75mg. so am titrating up slowly. I have not noticed much of any difference yet but I also read it takes around 4 weeks to have antidepressant effects. Feel a bit hyper on 75 mg., very med. sensitive. Had just gotten used to 37.5mg with no anxiety.

I would love to become hypomanic. I don't see the problem with it.

I ordered mine off the internet. Could it be that they weren't the real thing because I can't understand why I didn't notice anything on them, not even side effects?

Hi Denise
Wellbutrin seems to produce a 'stimulating' effect quite rapidly in some people but improvement in mood may take several week. In this respect, it doesn't seem to work any quickly than other ADs.
