HELP! <please>
on 9mg EMSAM (selegiline) patch.My head is clogged bad (allergy or cold.. not sure).
normally would take sudafed... but with selegiline (iirc)
sudafed is NG.....What can i take ???? i need a decongestant bad....

If it's an allergy, an antihistamine might help. Most of these are okay to take with MAOIs.Todd

I believe cortisone sprays are acceptable, though they take time to work. But what I've found to work best are the little strips that you tape over the bridge of your nose to hold the nasal passages open. (Unfortunately I can't remember their name.) Surprisingly, they really do work, though you have to put up with being seen wearing them. They're especially helpful at night but work fine during the day too.

Two cortisone sprays are Nasacort and Flonase. They require a prescription.
Nasacort is water-based and somewhat milder than Flonase, but (for whatever it's worth, and it may be coincidence) I've found the dispensers to be poorly designed and not terribly good delivery systems.
