Hello my husband is looking into a job in Barbados.
I suffer from bipolar and take antidepressant, abilify, klonopin and adderall also have some health problems like high blood pressure.
Does anyone know if I can be treated there? He doesn't want to go anyfurther with the job if I can't have care.
thanks

Im sure they have a psychiatric association that you could contact, or maybe try to contact a hopspital there and get in touch with the psych department.
Good luck

> RaineeMost of the Islands are very poor about providing good psychiatric treatment. More like the 1950's in the U.S. I believe that when I was in Barbados, they have a psychiatrist there and a hospital, but I wouldn't step foot near the place if I were you. Psychiatric treatment is not something that is used by most people in the islands, as I said. I recall Grenada had a big psychiatric hospital that was a lot like from the old movies. Patients were mostly schizophrenic and on high doses of the older generation antipsychotics. I would check with the U.S. embassy there in Barbados. They can probably give you the best information.
