I take 40mgs celexa. My doc had me get up ASAP due to what she though were OCD related issues that could not be helped by lower doses.
Typically in my life, i've always responded to lower doses of medications. We even tried 50 and 60 but just proved too much.What might be signs that 40mgs is too much?

My understanding is that 40mg is a pretty standard dose. It's right smack in the middle of the dosing range.
Also, I do remember the last thread we both participated in -- you were questioning your pdoc's requirement that you follow her instructions for six months. How is that going? Are you doing well on the Celexa? Is it helping with the OCD?
I hope it is, and wish you very good luck with it.

I'd say you'll know it's too high if after 4-6 weeks you have intolerable side effects still. Did the lower dose help you at all? Love Phillipa

Yes, i've been on celexa for almost 3 months. And yes, my anxiety did lesson as i went down from 60 to 40, which makes me wonder if it'd be even less if i continue to lower.
I'm in the final stages of a brutal benzo WD, so not sure how much i want to tweek.
Racer, i still have a great continous relationship w/ my PDOC and email regularly. She has become flexible w/ me, but still knows how not to give in to my obsessions. Yes, it has helped my obsessive ways.

I'm so glad to hear that, Brian! She sounds like a real winner, and I'm glad you've got someone like that on your team.
And I'm glad the treatment is helping you. As for the Celexa dose, I think your idea of waiting until you're past the benzo withdrawal to make any more changes is a very good one.

Sometimes the lower dosages do just as well as the high doses.

i think you're right linkadge. I dropped to 30mgs, and anxiety already seems less. I still have the option of switching to lexapro if wanted, but don't know it's any better than celexa.
would 15 lexapro=30 celexa? Or is it 10 lex=30 celexa.I know it's an ever ending debate.

Not too sure of the equivlancy. I just know I was prescribed originally 20mg of celexa, but it ended up that *less* (but not none) was good for me.
I did well on 10mg for a long time. Too much made the depression worse.
